I decided to give this game a go today. I like the music and the monster artwork, but I'm kinda struggling to understand the golem battles. I feel like I'm missing something. Basically, all I do is use "kick" and hope things die before I do (which is hard considering how often my attacks miss)... Defend seems to do nothing and Fight is basically kick, but deals lower damage. Is there something I'm missing? What do the blue vials do?

Honestly, it has been far too long since I played that, and I don't remember what the deal was, hopefully someone else will come along with a better answer, but I just do not remember what I did there.

Sadly, that's really all there is to these Golem battles. Attack is more accurate but weaker, whereas kick is the opposite (stronger, but less likely to hit the enemy). This game basically requires the player to grind a lot before each boss battle. The red vials represent the player's HP and the blue ones show how much water you have when travelling around the world map in your Golem. This usually never runs out unless you are purposely going back and forth between places just to waste it. And if by some chance you do begin to run out, you can replenish this in towns at either an inn or bar.
