Just wondering if anyone could post a list of this series games. Have any been translated before to english? How many games, do they follow same themes/plot points. Inquiring minds want to know.

Kininkou Maroku Oni (1990, Game Boy)
Oni II: Innin Densetsu (1992, Game Boy)
Oni III: Kuro no Hakaishin (1993, Game Boy)
Oni IV: Kishin no Ketsuzoku (1994, Game Boy)
Kishin Kourinden ONI (1994, SNES)
Oni V: Innin no Tsugumono (1995, Game Boy)
Bakumatsu Kourinden ONI (1996, SNES)
Oni Zero: Fukkatsu (2000, PlayStation)

A LOT of them :O even I was suprised.. thats the full list in the games series though.

yeah, its very reminiscent of the PS's Breath Of Fire games.. especially BoF4. It's a shame really that NO Oni fan
has tried translating that one.

I know... Although having a ton of games under the ONI banner, it's a very overlooked series in general. I'm still hoping that we can some day tackle that other ONI SNES game. Who knows, maybe the PSX game could come later :)

OH! lol, do D-D do PSX games also? I didn't realize that.. I thought you only dealt in translating 16-bit and below console/handhelds, that's great to know..
that PS Oni game would be awesome to have translated.. :O .. get the more important ones out of the way first tho.. LOL! all the ones in your project list,
I want to play ALL those.. LOL! I totally agree with you tho that it looks like people have missed out on a great game series.

Hehe, Though I share your sentiment, we've never worked on a PSX game, and doing so would require us learn a few more new skills. It's probably not going to happen, but one can always dream ;)

well you could always do it as a side-project and learn as you go, no matter how long it will take for it's release, never hurts to learn new skills. :)

I've heard that hacking iso based games is really tough.
Ps1 is even harder since it uses that outdated CDDA thing.

Seems like someone had already tried and failed.. http://transcorp.romhacking.net/forum/Y ... 1313637721

I know this game has a LOT of issues for translators.. like two different types of japanese languages being used, script translator's HELL I bet.
there's NO activity on it's progress page since 2011, maybe you could see if you could take over the project by contacting that guy Ryu, he seems
to STILL be active around the forums.
