Awesome. I was going to sleep, as it's a little late here, but tomorrow i'll test it for sure!

Although I had a little time for doing Doctor Insano business, here's a list of items i've been able to create with Dr.Deep:

Spoiler! :
Iron Scrap Spark Herb -> Lightning
Iron Scrap LightBulb -> Sun Bomb
Iron Scrap Meteor Shard -> Deep Metal
Iron Scrap Deep Metal -> Laser Cannon

Spark Herb Iron Scrap -> Lightning
Spark Herb LightBulb -> Spark Ball
Spark Herb Meteor Shard -> Bazooka
Spark Herb Deep Metal -> Laser Ball

LightBulb Iron Scrap -> Sun Bomb
LightBulb Spark Herb -> Spark Ball
LightBulb Meteor Shard -> Phantom Orb
LightBulb Deep Metal -> Copy Metal (Does a copy of an ally, weird but fun)

Meteor Shard Iron Scrap -> Deep Metal
Meteor Shard Spark Herb -> Bazooka
Meteor Shard LightBulb -> Phantom Orb
Meteor Shard Deep metal -> Megazooka (Pretty powerful)

Deep Metal Scrap Iron -> Laser Cannon
Deep Metal Spark Herb -> Laser Ball
Deep Metal LightBulb -> Copy Metal
Deep Metal Meteor Shard -> Megazooka

Comparing with the image posted by Wildbill I guess that:
Scrap is Iron Scrap
Biribiri Likely is Spark Herb
Your Light is LightBulb
Fragment's of Law is Meteor Shard
Deep Metal is... well, Deep Metal.

I also shared this with the Super Shell Monsters Sanctuary.

Outstanding, but yeah... get some rest! Me, I'm having a few hours of late afternoon wife-time in my zone.

So, here is what may be a comprehensive list of what Poyon could learn. It contains ten more than the ones you and I have already confirmed, but they are all in a consecutive grouping in our dump.

Spoiler! :
Snap
Fire Breath
Spark
Sonic Boom
Lucent Ray
Aqua Wheel
Chomp
Flatulence
Machinegun
MP Drain
H2O Barrier
Bubble Bomb
Magic Light
HP Straw
Fire Lizard
Full Support
Change
Acid Mist
Lick
Hypnosis
Slow Bubble
Rock Spike

Okay, here is Hotfix # 3.

http://dynamic-designs.us/shellmonsterstory/Super_Shell_Monsters_Story_V1.00_hotfix_3.ips

This one should add four battle messages that Bongo` found just today that were not dumped in the file we inherited. These should fill the previously empty boxes that pertain to the strong little critters than can scream for help by calling out colors! Bongo` was able to do this quickly because Maeson provided an SNES9x V143 save-state immediately before the empty box(es) appeared in the game. Thanks Maeson!

This hotfix also adds dash (-) support to the 8X8 fixed font. This means Cure-all and Flap-flap are restored with hyphens in the battle messages. Thanks to Taskforce and Bongo` for collaborating and extensively testing to find a coding solution for this issue.

This update also expresses Elder Cactus' anger over pirates who burn Shelldorado's legends into EEPROM carts and apply labels with crudely-drawn title fonts!

Maybe a few more small items that escape my mind at the moment.

Any testing of these added features and feedback would be appreciated.

But foremost, enjoy the game!

Sorry for not trying it earlier, but I've been a little busy and I didn't have the time needed to check all the fixes, and for doing a half-assed job at testing I rather wait.

Anyway let's start:

The colored Pugs summon the correct color, and the message when they are together is amusing! They still kick my ass with their super move, though (How much HP the red one has? wow...). They work perfectly (When they feel like showing up).

About the Cure-All thing... I can't talk for the Flap-Flap Skill, but for some reason Cure-All now has a "Sun Shower" name.

Maybe I did something wrong? I tested this with several copies and emulators.

Although I must say, Cure-All animation certainly looks like a sun shower...

Cactus rant works properly!

I saw some items with different descriptions, and it seems all of them are correct and easy to understand, good job!

I can't say for sure, but I'm pretty certain that move was actually supposed to be Sun Shower. There were also probably many other potential battle messages that were wrong because of the missing entries that are now corrected. However, it'll probably take a fresh play by someone to find out. I'm not suggesting you (or anyone) do that, but if someone who is starting fresh wants to keep an eye on battle messages and report back about any new strangeness, we'd love to hear from you.

It is supposed to be Sun Shower. Here's a partially corrected translation from a segment of the monster list for Badler Island (just pulled from the Japanese website):

Enemy HP/MP EXP/Pearls Flame-Water-Earth-Wind-Thunder-Fungus-Light
Use magic (Battle Message)

Badler Island volcano

Berobet 150/50 236/356 ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎
Lick

Dustman 170/- 236/356 ◎ ○ ○ ◎ ○ × ◎
(Illness), hold

Flare 172/- 236/356 × ◎ × ○ ○ ○ ○
Twin Flare

Devil Sun 170/100 236/356 ◎ ○ × ◎ ◎ ○ ×
Ocarina, Sun shower

Hanman 170/- 236/356 ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎
Fool's Strength Attack

Gilder(?) /∞ 1000/50 ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎ ◎
Fool's Strength Attack, Smelly(?) Breath

Thanks, Maeson!

Oh, if it is Sun Shower as the animation suggests, then it's perfect and not an issue as I thought!

I went to some low level areas and enemies skill's seem to work fine, but of course it's not the same as a totally fresh playthrough...

Yep, and Sun Shower heals everyone. It's the same skill as one of Tokia's ultimate abilities.

When we added the battle messages inadvertently not dumped all this time, the list shifted two spaces in the area where Cure-all and Sun Shower reside. By sheer coincidence, Cure-all was a credible name for a healing technique by a foe. Generally speaking, however, "cures" in this game fix status ailments but don't restore HP.

Other battle techniques are believable for just about any foe, so we never detected we were missing a few until Taskforce and Bongo` set about to fix hyphen support.

You see, the lists we inherited were just English names without the original Japanese displayed nearby. That made it impossible to double check translations without applying saves to the Japanese ROM and re-translating portions of the game - a time-consuming and potentially tedious process for those of us who are not truly bilingual.

Therefore, your initial report of the artifact interspersed with Cure-all inside Badler's Volcano enabled us to refine a number of inherent flaws in the game that no one had ever detected. The Devil Suns do not cast Sun Shower unless wounded, so this made seeing the message even less likely.

Thanks again for helping us make the game more perfect!

Wow, then all this was found (and fixed, thankfully) by plain dumb luck. Or my awesome ability to be underleveled and/or unable to kill them in one turn at that moment.

Either way, i'm glad to help. Although you guys are the ones doing the actual labor and should be thanked for it instead of me.

By the way; I have one question, although this one doesn't have anything to do about the translation:

Spoiler! :
Now i'm looking for the four dragons to help me. I went to fight the volcano where is located the Land Dragon. I didn't have that much trouble with the enemies there, but the Land Dragon itself walls me like nothing.

I just hit it for 1-5 points of damage at levels 44-42, and while I know it's weak to water, I didn't levelp up the characters that have water magic that much (As I read at the beginning, the game was tested with those characters, so i decided to use the others to check things) the only thing I can do is critcal hits and Water Weel from Poyon.

Is there any tip for it? I really feel stupid for asking but I didn't expect such a brick wall on an important fight like this.

Oh, shoot. The data/ directory should have had both lists of English and Japanese text in similarly named files. I filled in the missing gaps some time ago and made sure there were not supposed to be gaps by comparing how many lines each file had.

Congrats by the way on the release.

I think not being able to complete the 8x8 vwf font is a bug because HP totals are truncated in the menu. Understandably that's what stopped progress before.

Probably not. You can probably get through some fights with some dedicated healers and 1-2 characters that can do damage against its weakness. The game was made, i think, for you to switch out your party to adapt to the enemy.
