I've already posted about this on my blog, but I'm trying to drum up a little anticipation since I'm cautiously optimistic that Battle Golfer Yui doesn't have long before a release. To celebrate, here are some screenshots of the WIP hacking to expand menus and such that Supper shared with me recently. These shots show of some expanded menus and the redone password system to use the English alphabet.

Hey, that's really cool! Great to see that this one is coming along nicely. Golf/RPG hybrids aren't 'that' common all things considered, and at the time this game came out they certainly weren't a thing. Besides, it's always good to see a new MD translation patch. If I were you, I'd probably have it betatested by a person or two, though maybe it's not necessary in this game's case... either way, that's awesome news. :)

Thanks! It's not really an RPG. I guess you do level up, but it's more of an adventure game where you choose to "look", "talk", "pick up", etc... Supper is planning to play it from start to finish, so it will at least have been played by one person. I'm planning to release it as a public beta at that point.

It occurred to me that it might also be good to come up with a similar thread on some big Sega forum, such as Sega 16, right before or after the release. That could help more people notice the patch, especially considering that Genesis releases aren't all that common. Just a random idea though. :)

Be my guest! Here are some newer screenshots. Feel free to direct them to this thread, or my blog, or repost some of this over there. FYI: There's a good chance this will be ready before the end of the year, but if not, expect a release shortly after.

Thanks! I appreciate the sentiment. We're considering it a public beta, but Supper has played through the game twice.

Isn't "Lever" used in Japanese video games to mean D-Pad or whatever your preferred term is?

Yeah. I already changed it to "Pad".
