That's quite a lineup! Actually, I believe we had one of these posted on our site for quite some time as a project-in-work, back when we called ourselves Magic Destiny. It was #2 - Bakumatsu Korinden: Oni, a project of Akujin's when he was part of M-D. We dropped it a few years ago when we reorganized as D-D. Garrett told us Kammedo was doing it. At least, I believe it was Garrett. A short while ago, Garrett did say that Kammedo has been out of touch for quite some time. I don't know how many materials we had assembled for Oni, but it's a nice-looking game, set in Japan at the end of the Edo period. I noticed that some of the dialogue screens are displayed in the vertical, and those we would probably need to reassemble in the horizontal plane should we happen to pick it up again. The list is interesting indeed, should give something to set our sights on in the future. We should probably scratch Popful Mail though as the Sega CD has an enhanced port of it in english already. |

It'd probably be difficult to hack Popful Mail anyways. I didn't look at the game very much. But I didn't notice part of the game was being executed from RAM, leaving to wonder if this game even compressed the ASM code. As to Daikaiju 1, it lacks translation support. If you can find a translator, let byuu know because he hacked the game already. Or his stuff might have been uploaded to the RHDN Abandoned Project archive. |

Once we got our project load knocked down, I would love to look into Mahoujin GuruGuru I and Mahoujin GuruGuru II. The anime is extremely funny so I can only imagine the games are just as interesting. At this point though, we have more than enough to keep us plenty busy. We don't need any more distractions |

Oni is a great game, though - as are all of them. Btw, what really surprised me when scrolling through that whole bunch of SNES-RPGs: There are only these 21 games (apart from 4-5 others) that I found impressing and which have not been translated so far. All the others are already playable in English or are at least worked on. That's a huge accomplishment from the whole translation-scene, in my eyes! I thought there were much more nice Japanese RPGs that needed attention. Respect, you guys have done a great job over the last years apparently! |

Re-engineering those screens does indeed appear daunting. Hmmm... I'm not sure Bongo` could crack these! Thanks for the props. It's all due to the teamwork of a super group of folks. I know I've had fun doing my little piece of it. |

Bongo` solved that eons ago. I already have an assembly hack in hand that makes the dialog horizontal like all other RPG's. We even had a script dump but there was some question about how great a dump it was. If we did pick up the project again, a redump would probably be best. At this point though, I think it is safe to say that we have more than enough to keep us busy and there is no reason to get more going. Unless a translator came along and said that they wanted to do this game. If that were to happen, that would be a complete game changer, and it would/could be ready for them in a very short period of time. |

That would be rather nice. I really like games with medieval japanese settings. If I had the patience and expertise I'd even make one myself with RMXP or VX. |

I was actually baiting Bongo` just a tiny, wee, little bit - and dang-it - I'm one of the 10% who didn't get the word!!Heh, if we found a translator who loves honorifics, we could leave 'em all in there legitimately this time and make him/her as pleased as punch!! Garrett, if you're out there in RPG-land somewhere, do you know if Kammedo had a translated or partially translated dump of this game? |
