Showing off some 8x8 tile magic and fully-inserted script. These were all originally double spaced (even the menus.) Character names used to be in-line with dialogue instead of printed above it, and lines printed used to overwrite the lines immediately above them automatically to save space for ten-ten marks. The menus all work, by the way, despite working based on hardcoded compares to the cursor's position on-screen. What the @#$% people.

This is not *that* impressive until you realize that the game is inserting the linebreaks on its own, code courtesy of yours truly. It's also not that impressive until you realize that it's actually three strings cobbled together into a single sentence:

Code:
//[$0682AC]
#W24($06532D)
//さいの たんじょうびを<lineX3Y4>
//いわう しょくたく。<pause><end>
birthday, so they're having a special dinner.<pause><end>
//<$F7><$40><$07>

//[$0682C5]
#W24($065330)
//<lineX1Y2>
//* <player>の 16<$F7><$40><$07><end>
<auto-np>
* It's <player>'s 16th <$F7><$40><$07><end>

//[$0682D5]
#W24($065333)
//<lineX1Y2>
//* <player>の 14<$F7><$40><$07><end>
<auto-np>
* It's <player>'s 14th <$F7><$40><$07><end>

...and yes, the auto-format command is successfully navigating the string jumps.

That's a nifty-looking game. Bizarre coding seems to be the situation for many of the unfinished translations out there.

Its really impressive how much work you have accomplished the past few months. You seem to be bouncing between so many projects, how do you decide which ones to work on? I will say this game was probably one of the top ones of yours that I was interested in playing along with Metal Max 2 and Romancing Saga 2.

Looks like an interesting game. I'm also looking forward to trying this out when it's done.

I'm going to assume that Romal and Shirley are the two choices of main characters kind of like Remeer and Ferris in Mystic Ark. Is this correct? What's the plot of this game about? I've only read something about the hero's father being a healer or wizard.

On the map screen this looks a little bit like Final Fantasy 4. Can't wait to play!

The male main's default name is Clive, but you're right about Shirley. Romal is the main character's knight cousin, and is a fixture for most of the game.

The plot is pretty generic at first, to be perfectly honest - dark elves banished to some place years ago, coming back to attack the land of light, etc etc. The plot takes some really sharp turns towards the end though, and throws a lot of really crazy curveballs your way before it's over.
