Tactics Ogre doesn't really need much introduction. It's basically the model for Final Fantasy Tactics, and is quite the impressive feat for the SNES. The plot is full of intrigue and branching paths, the gameplay is complicated and allows for lots of customization, the music is standard (amazing) Sakimoto material.

Every little task in this game was like pulling teeth. The simplest thing took hours, crashes kept popping up where there weren't any before. It's still not perfect, but it's pretty damn good for what it is.

Get it at Aeon Genesis.Enjoy!

Is the "Al-bhed " version the only one available right now? Happy April Fools to you too ;)

I've been waiting a long time for this one.
Great to see it released.

Congratulations and good work Gideon. I remember in the past on your website that you used to have some inconsiderate halfwits constantly bug you for updates on this game. Here's hoping their internet connections malfunction for the next week so they have to wait a little longer.

I probably won't get a chance to try this out because I played the Playstation version and put over 100 hours in the game and I worry about getting addicted to this again but you finished one of the best SNES games there ever was.

I really miss this series, especially the Ogre Battle variations.

Really? quite heroic of you to be able to stand the annoying sample-seeking pauses, Ultpaladin.
Or is there a way to disable sound effects and avoid that nerve-racking "feature"?

I can't get why everyone complains about PSX loading on this game.

I played it, back in the day, and didn't see anything so strange about loading times, it was a very pleasant experience.

Honestly I don't remember how bad the pauses were in the game because I must have played it 7-8 years ago and frankly a lot of Playstation games were bad on the load times so it might have been harder for Tactics Ogre to stand out for me in terms of pauses. I remember Final Fantasy 5 was really bad for instance and I didn't even play Final Fantasy 4 or 6 again because it was too slow and the SNES versions were better.

Its not the loading time per se, just annoying minute pauses whenever a unit is defeated.
There is a small freeze, the death voice plays, then it unpauses.
It gets on my nerves that's all.
