Help. I'm stuck at Chapter 3.

Talk to all the folks, then travel to northwest. You will reach a mountain.
Follow the path and you will fall into the river when you try to cross the
bridge. Talk to the soldier in Diabal City and he will ask you to find Elf
Clothes. Talk to the other soldier for more information. Now, Go to Meora.

I'm not able to trigger this event.

This is a bear! I helped write the story, and I struggled with it. During my final pass and story polishing evolution in October, I walked around in circles endlessly and talked to people in towns repeatedly. As I recall rather fuzzily (I've played through two Arethas, one La Wares, and one-fourth of Super Shell Monsters Story-II since),

finally, I worked my way quite a bit further west without going too far north via a path that winds up mountain trails before I found the bridge over a canyon that falls apart. It is not the bridge that is close to the first part of Chapter 3. That one remains intact throughout. After falling, you'll need the special clothes from the person on top of a mountain back to the east where the famous climber fixes the chains, so you can float over the broken bridge and eventually reach the Chapter 3 boss. What I'm not clear on is whether you must talk to a specific person in one of the towns before the trail opening to the fragile bridge becomes visible - assuming it might be hidden and blocked until you do.

You must talk to everyone in the first town (and possibly the second) then find the bridge. I'm going to borrow SylarDean's image.
