A few years ago when i was on middle school or mayber a bit later i was
searching onthe net roms for my snes emulator and was kind of bored for
not finding anything worth RPG wise...

I had played already bahamut lagoon, chrono trigger and other famous rpgs
but then i found one little jewel in the rough...

Energy Breaker, kind of like FFT but this one was more vivid and entertaining,
after a bit more research i found that there was a translation going on but i think
it never actually got completed and i think the project is like 4 or more years old...

I managed to get a small patch that only translated partly menus and some fight
stuff and was playing kind of right until i reached a point were the game cycled and
could not progress anymore, i think it was an issue it the patch or who knows...

So, anyone knows of a team thats CURRENTLY translating this or if someone at least
is considering this?? i personally think it would be worth a shot altough i know how
long translations could take... (*thinks about mystic ark*)

Here's some screens:

I've got some good news for ya...
http://www.romhacking.net/trans/346/

Edit: Doh, the patch status states "1.0", but the descriptions clearly states that it is not finished.

hahhaha, thats the patch i was talking about, its just some menus and npc dialogues from the
first town and dungeon, but you reach a point on the first dungeon where the game freezes
and progress is no longer posible.

So i guess it is kind of a lost cause now, uh? there is a project page that suposidely translating
it but so far its been the same for like 2 years, then again they might be working on it and they
just dont update their page, either way i guess ill make do with that...

Thanks.

Satsu was the main translator for the game... He sometimes pops by here, so maybe you'll get lucky, and he'll give us a little more information ;)

well the little i got to play the game before encountering the fatal glitch of doom
it seemed pretty promising!!

Good graphics, entertaining gameplay and a old school feel i love a lot!!!
also i think i heard somewhere that this game came even earlier than Final Fantasy
Tactics, so i dont know maybe FFT was based of this??

Aniway the game really is a gem just waiting to be polished, maybe not a the level of
chrono triger or ogre battle but still it has quite a charm to it.

I too would like to see EB finished, as I'm a real sucker for isometric strategy games.
I believe though that the basis for FFT was Tactics Ogre (if I remember correctly Square brought some of the Quest programmers to create FFT).

That patch was just some random WIP Disnesquick put on the Internet one day to drum up interest in the game.

Both satsu and filler I believe were working on the translation. Suppoedly, that was finished. I forget where it was since, waiting for Disnesquick to finish hacking? Waiting for beta testing to finish?

If i remember they were wating for a translator, and someone just grabbed an unfinished patch
and a random unworking rom and posted it somewhere, that in hopes of atracting the attention
of a translator to help finishing the project...

Or so i read somewhere, who knows what really happned, right now im playing the game in japanese
with some guides since with the patch it crashes...

That and mystics ark on my PSP with the latest english patch, this one is a hell of a rpg man, you just
dont see gems like these nowdays, its dissapointing how people just care about graphics when the
gameplayis really crappy....

I agree on the gameplay thing .I hear the first "Final Fantasy" game for 3DS is a music game. I can't be the only one thing "S-E is going to crash hard some day if they keep this up."? :(
