A bit out of context considering the subject of matter is mostly Zsnes / Snes9x but I found out SnesGT is still alive and kicking, so I can't help but recommend it again (download link is on the snesgt BBS).

As for BSNES, it seems more features are being added, including video filters, which I find rather nice. Snes9x I don't really use except for specific tests or an eventual need to help Bongo' with bug tracking.
Lastly, the whole thing with Zsnes update kind of reached a mythical status nowadays, when compared to 1.51, the next version will have a lot of catching up to do with other emulators, guess we'll wait and see.

Hi,

I ran into the same issue with Slayers on the snes9x and ended up deleting the rom as I could not be bothered to go through the start again. I must state this was a rom that was prepatched.

I just use what I am used to, which is snes 9x and rarely, zsnes. But I suppose I can give bsnes a try if slayers will work on that.

For some reason when I tried slayers and patched the game myself with your patch..all the stats were totally whacky. I was on level 99 with, like, 65000 for money. I do not know why.

This kind of symptom usually signals an altered rom dump or one with some sort of inbuilt trainers, in either case something most patches won't be able to work in a stable manner onto.
The base rom you need is the 1.0 revision and usually rom sites name their unaltered, good dumps with a [!] in front of of the file name, so look for that indicator.
