I've encountered a problem during the ending sequence. After giving a name to Copy Lina and confirming it, the screen goes black, the music fades then quickly restarts, then nothing. I'm stuck staring at a black screen with music. Pressing any of the buttons does nothing and I've done the renaming process several times to be greeted by the black screen every time.
I'm using ZSNESW version 1.36 and no cheats. If anyone can help I will greatly appreciate it and I thank you for your time.

This is the second report I've heard concerning an ending glitch, but I don't recall the exact details or outcome of the other. For starters, try loading your SRM into BSNES. Second, you may need to patch a new (confirmed pure) ROM and load your save into that with BSNES. I must travel today. Hopefully, you can get a copy of your SRM to Red Soul if shifting to BSNES or patching a new ROM doesn't fix your ending.

Also if you cannot use BSNES for some reason, try a higher version of ZsnesW.
Although no version of this emulator can run the game perfectly (including unpatched)
a newer version may be sllightly more stable.
Please refer to the procedures recommended by Wildbill and check back here;
I will act in accordance to the results.

Edit: If all else fails, use SnesGT in case BSNES is not an option, as it is
much better than Zsnes or Snes9X overall and has a core accuracy
that is very high, emulating correctly games that otherwise only BSNES could,
and at a much lower system requirement load.
If you do use SnesGT keep these things in mind:

1 - Soft patching is not supported yet. Safekeep a clean rom
and hard patch the copy you intend to play.

2 - Its savestates are not compatible with other emulators,
so if you migrate you need to make a battery save and load
from there (only SnesGT and BSNES emulate Slayers' SRAM
function correctly, and that has nothing to do with the patch).

3 - Only SnesGT 230 Beta 6 supports the use of filters so
I recommend you use this one if you like clean visuals like I do.
The filters are in rpi format, the same as Kega Fusion uses, but not all
of them are entirely compatible, it will take some experimenting on your part.
(Slayers in particular doesn't behave well when using the 2xSai filter on
SnesGT so avoid this one in this specific case).

BSNES worked perfectly! I was able to continue without any problems. The music sounds a bit odd at times (a bit too fast or slow), but there seems to be no other issues. Thank you for everyone's help!

We are glad to have helped.
As for the sound, fiddle around with BSNES's settings some.

Settings > Emulation Speed > 100%
> Synch Audio (enable)
> Synch Video (enable)

And further...

Settings > Configuration > Audio
> Frequency > 32000Hz
> Latency > 80ms

These should be the closest to the settings of the actual machine
and should run without problems.
Remember to always use the latest avaliable version if possible
but keep the previous one for rollback in case something goes bad.

I kind of wish emulator porters would use fresher emulators when trying to
build console compatible versions.
Just because something is easy to cross-platform doesn't mean its a good choice.
I just hope the S9X port is better than the computer aimed version...
Good luck on your tests and keep us informed.

Damn... I've been in this scene too long... I remember using those way back in the day.

I started off with Gencyst (Genesis emulator by Bloodlust, very advanced for its time) but since then I fared long and wide in the seven seas of emulation
and I'm glad things progressed as much as they did. A lot of machines can be emulated near perfectly
currently and that helps take some of our own saudosism away as well as open pathways to lost gems
we'd otherwise never have the chance to experience.

Speaking of which I recently ran across a Saturn gem, a gaiden for Albert Odyssey, and it was translated and marketed by
Working Designs. Its quite amazing how much the writing style sounds and feels the the patches we release, especially the
humor part, I've been highly amused by the game so far (having been a rabid Sega fan back in the day, I always felt like
the Saturn never got the praise it deserved as it was comercially eclipsed by the Playstation)
and despite having owned the machine I never got the chance to play any of its juicy titles up until now,
so I'm thankful for SSF, broadband internet and multicore processors, indeed.

Well, almost every SNES Emulator that was made for 128 Bit Consoles (Dreamcast, PS 2, GameCube....X-BOX? I dunno about this one,

Yes X-Box was a 128-Bit console, the most powerful during the 128 bit war actually.

I guess that makes us even, I haven't got the slightest idea of what you meant right now.
