Typing 101. Always use two spaces after the end of a sentence. This is proper typing etiquette, it is just that for space reasons on games, that some don't follow it. (Yeah, I had typing in high school, including advanced typing, such as how to format any number of business letters. Man that class (typing II) was a pain, and no the dinosaurs didn't bother us too much but those keys made out of stone were hard to push.) |

Sadly, that is a major problem these days. Everyone teaches computers and nobody teaches real typing anymore. Therefore typing rules aren't taught in those courses like they should be. Its a real shame. Oh, and it wouldn't be taught in English class. This is a rule that specifically relates to typing and not writing. |

Although I still use double spacing after periods, colons, question marks, etc. I'm trying to phase it out of my writing. I'm not surprised that you hadn't heard of it before Master Chen. It really shows our age around here (We're truly old geezers!). The major (now not so major) trend of using double spaces after certain punctuation marks harkens back to the days of the typewriter. Cursed monospaced type! |
