It sounds like a good methodology, I'll try and make it so my playing pace follows suit to that.
Still playing ahead even through uninserted areas (when possible)
could potentially speed script checks later on for errors and pinpointing script issues
(I don't mean playing too far ahead, but a character - chapter QC routine is how I'm dealing with my end of testing).

That sounds like a good plan Wildbill. So far, out of all my play-throughs, I've only spotted three freeze points in the game which I already reported to you today. There haven't been any more so far which is good, but I'll keep playing around with various characters just to be sure. It sure was a cruel joke when I played the first time and the game froze after beating the last boss... -_-;

Right after finishing Gaou's second chapter (sorry I couldn't resist, he's one of my faves along with Rouga and Mevius)
I took a gander at his chapter 3 and it froze shortly after I reached third town (I think that's the name).
Did you run into that one Recca?

Hm, no I didn't. I played all the way to the end with Ryuu, Laila, Gaou and Naga, but I don't remember the game ever freezing at any of the chapter intros... I've encountered only four freeze points so far:

- Tide Town: When talking to a NPC guy to the right of the town (outside, not indoors).
- Ruins Town: When talking to a NPC guy in the bar area north.
- Blue Path: There's a cutscene which freezes the game if you try going there before beating the Waterfall Mountain Path and Rock Fort.
- After beating the last boss. I had to re-beat him in the original Japanese version in order to unlock the other four characters...

You mean freeze #4 is even in the original japanese game?
I sure hope we can polish it out before release, it would be an awful awful caveat to deliver.

No, the original Japanese version is fine. The freeze at the ending cutscene after beating the last boss happens only in our current D-D beta BH verison. What I meant to say is that the game froze while I was playing the D-D version and had to switch over to the Japanese version in order to actually beat him and send the unlocked character save state to Wildbill.

Ah so I see, seems to be something analogous to a bug in SF3 Scenario 3 (I've been following that one closely).
I hope both we and them can fix our respective bugs.

In a month? I bought from that seller before, I'd be surprised if it takes more than a couple weeks. :)
