Can you beat them? Whenever I find them, they attack first, then instantly run away. Is there anything I can do?

Spoiler! :
You must beat them in one turn. The only way we've found to beat them is when you've leveled enough to beat them in one turn, then return to Red Thaw Canyon and stomp on them in one shot. When you are first visiting though, it is pretty much impossible as far as we could tell.

I see, I'll give it a try later, then. Thanks for the help! :)

I recall those pesky reptiles! If you find a technique, please share it here!

Well, I just came back here when I was level 50+ and killed them. They still got one attack before my characters.

Well, at least you got them added to your Monster Guide! As far as I know, no one has ever completely filled the Guide. On my best try, I ended up with 3 or 4 empty slots. Aaaaarrgghh!

I've tried grinding a little in most new areas I run into, but I imagine I probably missed a monster or two, specially on missable areas...

Well, I’ve seen it filled once previously. Bongo’ hacked ‘me in!

I just reached the last area of the game and I completed the monster guide! I wasn't expecting I'd be able to do it! Neat! :D

Oh, by the way, are the monster descriptions references to random things? I don't really get what a lot of those mean...
