i am huge fan fushigi no dungeon series fan so,long story short,i wanted to replay the original on the sfc

i clearly remember using the "final" patch when it finally came out back in 2003-4 or so (zsnes i guess) and then again a couple years later, around 2010 i'd say
and,again,no problem whatsoever

fast forward to today and i just can't get it to work (currently using an older version of bsnes,070)
i've tried everything and pretty much any possible combination of : .smc , .sfc , v1.0 , v1.1 , header , headerless for the rom and both ips and ups version of the patch
tried the hard patching route with lunar and nothing
soft patching doesn't work either

i either get a black screen or the "regular" game in japanese

any idea ? is there an issue with this specific patch i'm not aware of ?
i used this very same version of bsnes for other translations and no issues

thanks

just out of curiosity , will we ever get a "100%" translated version at some point in the future ? is there any interest in this game ?
i am clearly biased but i do believe this game deserves it

in any case, thanks to the people who worked on this so long ago

Unfortunately, unless some person well versed in SNES assembly steps up to finish it, I doubt we will ever get a fully finished game. There just isn't any interest in doing it by anyone we've talked to about it.

I thought this was fully translated?? Maybe I missed it, but everything seemed translated the two times I played it.

I played this some time in 2014 and beat the main dungeon.

Some time in mid 2018 I replayed and beat even the 3rd, much harder dungeon and legit beat the entire game.

So yah, add me as another who liked the game enough. I consider it to be better than the second one that came out as this one, while challenging as well, feel easier to get into, a little more simple and not as unforgiving.

It was mostly done, there was just some minor tweaks left that needed to be taken care of. I am not sure if there was even any remaining dialog that wasn't translated, but I do know there were two or three assembly hacks that needed to be taken care of that never were to make it perfect.
